Javvy: Learn to code in Java App Reviews

Great app... If I was learning

This is a wonderful app for people that have no experience with programming. I have only completed the first 3 chapters, and Im not sure if I know anything. I have had a tiny bit of Java experience before, but coming back to it with this app is hard because all Im doing is filling in blanks with a few choices. Its hard to say that Ill be able to know Java after the 15 chapters unless there if much more interaction. Thats why Im hesitant to buy the rest of the course. Its nice to be able to try, but its not for everyone.

Super cute but...

I like the way this app is set up with the cute graphics , but honestly I see this as more for fun or a supplement for sites like code academy where you can learn Java for free with more practice material. I think if more practice or review sheets of important concepts that are used in the work place were given this would be a great app. I feel sometimes that this app reiterates the same concept over and over. I also have swiftly and notice this. Better yet just make video tutorials on udemy

Very helpful to learn Java

Very Great Work!!!

I know that not alot of people demand to learn programming but this app is VERY helpful

Lovely

Really well designed app!

Trash

You only get the bare minimum before being force to pay. The only free thing stops at integers right before Booleans

Methods

This app helped me take a new look on methods and the way I code Java. Really helped me and I would recommend to anyone who is beginning and having a bit of trouble with Java. 5/5

Bare minimum

No real explanation of syntax, and uses color coding in instructions that doesnt match up to code being written. VERY confusing and feels extremely rushed.

Its good but needs more.

Context clues are great and help on one level but it would be nice to have some additional explanation should we need it. Hopefully with updates it will happen. Right now it should be used as supplementary material only.

Great review tool

I am in AP Computer Science in Senior year of high school, which is basically an intro to Java class, and this app helps a lot. He doesnt quiz us every week so this is a great tool to review your knowledge. Helpful, plenty of examples, and A+ for ease of use and ability to review topics in Java. Only problem is you cant write your own code to practice first hand, but thats not what this app is for. Kudos to the developer for an easy-to-use fully developed Java app.

Amazing to help Learn

Learning a lot with this app

No string sanitizing

Has Little Bobby Tables taught us nothing? I crashed the app with a quotation mark in that dialog box. Now imagine the same scenario running as a Java applet in a "secure" environment. Can you see where Im going with this?
